Get to know our dancer – Meenakshi Srinivasan

Meenakshi Srinivasan is a Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer . The beauty and grace of her form, the purity of her dance technique and her exceptional expressiveness set her apart from other dancers of her generation. With the beauty and grace of her form, the purity of her dance technique and her exceptional, Meenakshi succeeds in creating a rapport with her audience and communicating her dedication and passion for this art.

Meenakshi trained in the Pandanallur school of Bharatanatyam, her initial learning and foundation being under Smt. Alarmel Valli. The exceptional training she received laid the foundation for her outstanding technique, and she has since developed her own individual approach, creativity and style characterized by a distinctive sensuous geometry.

She was awarded the Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for Bharatanatyam for the year 2011.She has been conferred the titles Natya Kala Vipanchee ,the Natya Kala Dharshini and Nrtya Abhinaya Sundaram. She is graded as a “Top Artist” with the Doordharshan , the national television network.

Meenakshi currently resides in Chennai and pursues her art with passionate precision and devotion that defines her approach to retain the purity of the great art. She is also an accomplished Architect and runs a successful Architectural practice called Calm Studio.
